Alan Irvine's Pittsburgh Walking Tours

Alan Is Now Offering Walking Tours through Walktheburgh.com

Come and explore Pittsburgh with walktheburgh's Best of the Burgh tour. Alan has joined the this  team of tour guides offering a variety of walking and biking tours to explore Pittsburgh. All of the tours are great, but if you are looking for Alan, he is leading the Best of the Burgh tours most Wednesdays.

Want to explore the spooky and gruesome side of Pittsburgh. Join Alan every Sunday evening for the Black and Ghost Tour - and discover tales of Pittsburgh murder and mayhem.

How Does It Work?

Alan's walking tours are a walk around the city with someone  who loves Pittsburgh and wants to share the city with you.  We'll touch on Pittsburgh history, on the historic sites we pass, but also on current events and developments.  We might even discuss Pittsburgh gossip - historical or current. Tour groups are small - usually just one group at a time - so you  can ask whatever questions you want (even where should we eat lunch? or Can we stop at a bathroom?), detour to see an intriguing  building or site, even stop for a short rest.

Who is Alan Irvine?

Alan is a Pittsburgh storyteller and  historian. He came to Pittsburgh in 1984 (just as the era of steel came to a crashing end) and fell in love with the city. He has been here ever  since. As a storyteller, he has been telling stories of Pittsburgh  history and people for almost 30 years. Alan has also taught university courses on Pittsburgh's urban development and issues.
